Stop Blaming Other People For Your Sins

It is time to stop blaming other people for your sins. We live in a world where many people do not take responsibility for their actions. It is a world where people like blaming others for the type of lifestyle they live. A person living a lustful life will blame other people because of how those people are dressed. Many people do not like examining themselves because they do not like what they will find out about and within themselves; for others, it is easier to shift blame because they really do not want to change their way of life.

It is easier for many people to point fingers at everyone but themselves; there are people who seem to cherish their sins and do not want to give up a certain aspect of their lives.

Because following Christ seems too costly for some people, they usually end up giving justification and excuses for their sinful lifestyle. Many people blame others instead of owning up their words, actions, and attitudes, and taking the necessary measures to make the changes needed.

If we do not realize and acknowledge how sinful we are in our human nature, then we cannot come to a place of repentance. If a person is always blaming others and never acknowledging their sin, then they will remain in the state that they are in. Stop blaming other people for your sins.

For a person to come to a point of repentance, they have to realize how lost and sinful they are and that they need a Savior, Jesus Christ.

We have to realize that every person will be held accountable for their actions before God. Yes, that other person may have contributed to leading you down the wrong path, but they will be judged accordingly. If we choose to follow the wrong path then we will also be judged according to the choices we make.

Just because someone was dressed in a provocative way, or they offended you, or they abused you, or they mistreated you, or they treated you unfairly, or they cheated on you, or they stole from you; just because a person sinned against you is no excuse for you to sin. Do not sin against a holy God just because someone sinned against you. It is possible to respond without sin by the power of the Holy Spirit. For those who tempt others to sin, great sorrow awaits them.

“Then He said to the disciples, ‘It is impossible that no offenses should come, but woe to him through whom they do come! It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones. Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.’” Luke 17:1–4.

Let us watch out and not be the source of temptations for those around us, let us not forget that we shall be judged according to how we live our life here on earth. Let us also be people who forgive and do not hold on to unforgiveness in our hearts, let us forgive and release people from our hearts, knowing very well that God is the just Judge.

The Bible tells us to pursue peace with all men, as well as holiness, without which no one will see the Lord. Let us all purpose to hate sin and stop justifying our wrongs.

Choose to stop blaming other people for your sins. When you sin, repent before God and turn away from your sin. Do not remain in a state of sin as you keep blaming someone else for what you are doing. Other people are not responsible for our actions. We will be held accountable for our actions and they will be held accountable for their actions.

Do not be deceived that somehow you will end up in heaven when you live an unrepentant sinful life, do not think that ‘God will understand’ just because someone offended you, sinned against you, and led you into the destructive path you are following.

But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgement of God, who ‘will render to each according to his deeds’: eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor and immortality; but to those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness — indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek; but glory, honor and peace to everyone who works what is good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For there is no partiality with God. Romans 2:5–11.

Stop blaming other people for your sins and humble yourself before God, pick up your cross, and follow Jesus. Repent, turn away from your sin, and accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior. Purpose to live according to the will of God no matter what people have done to you or what they have said to you and about you.

Do not sin just because someone has sinned against you.

The road to eternal life is not a crowded path. Do not live your life as the world does, be set apart and live according to the Word of God. Ask the Holy Spirit to empower you to forgive those people who have wronged you, and release them to God.

Realize that we live in a fallen world with human beings who have a sinful nature. You will encounter people who will wrong you in one way or the other, but through it all, if you are led by the Holy Spirit, you will be able to respond in love and leave the judgement to God.

Do not live in a state of unforgiveness, or blame, or bitterness; allow God to heal you of the wounds caused by other people and to restore you, and purpose to live a life pleasing to God. Leave the judgement to God and press forward. Allow God to do His sanctification work within you, and be willing to let go of anything that does not please Him.

Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my anxieties; and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23–24.
