Wisdom — A Wise Woman Builds Her Home

The Bible tells us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and that if any of us lack wisdom, we should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to us. Wisdom is defined as the “ability to discern inner qualities and relationships; good sense.” It is insight, good judgement.

The Bible tells us of how important it is to get wisdom, there is security in wisdom.

Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth. Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you; love her, and she will keep you. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding. Exalt her, and she will promote you; she will bring you honor, when you embrace her. She will place on your head an ornament of grace; a crown of glory she will deliver to you. Proverbs 4:5–9.

So many people do not realize the value of wisdom, and even growing up, not many parents emphasize the importance of wisdom to their children. Because of that, so many people grow up simple-minded.

Satan likes preying on the simple-minded. The simple-minded most of the time do not even believe that Satan exists in the first place. Satan uses the ignorance of people against them to destroy them. The Bible asks the simpletons how long they will love simplicity!

How long, you simple ones, will you love simplicity? For scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge. Proverbs 1:22.

How long will you remain in your ignorance? The devil is cunning, crafty, and manipulative, he will camouflage as an angel of light just to deceive.

If you are simple-minded then he will easily deceive you without facing any form of resistance. He will tell you a few nice words and do a few good things and you will easily fall into his traps. Satan has no honor, he preys and targets the weak ones because he knows they will easily believe his deception.

The enemy will lure you until you fall into his traps if he sees that you are simple-minded and you have no discernment, he will tell you what you want to hear, he will do what you want to see done, then finally, if you still do not resist him, he will bring you down to ruins. There is nothing free that the enemy gives, everything has a cost, and the cost is usually out of proportion, but the saddest of all is that many souls end up being lost and end up in hell.

Can you be classified as a silly gullible woman as the Bible says? Are you burdened with the guilt of sin? Is your life controlled by the passions of this world? Are you always learning but never able to understand the truth? Have you opened your life to predators who are after you just to get something from you? Are you easily fooled by honey-coated words and actions that seem just right? Do you make rush decisions?

Do you wait to get to know who a person really is or do you just look at the external appearances and conclude that the person must be nice because they appear nice on the outside, because they mention God once in a while and attend church and because their friends say they are nice? Do you know that the enemy is always out there looking for people to devour? Do you know that the human heart is the most deceitful of all things and desperately wicked?

Do you know that apart from God human beings are not capable of anything good?

Do you yoke your life with ungodly people incapable of anything good and expect good results? Do you engage in sin and expect no consequences? Do you easily believe everything people say and do? Do you realize that human beings have a fallen nature and they will seem like your friends one moment but the next moment they are trying to destroy you? Do you know that we are living in the end times? Do you know that we are to trust God and not man?

Wisdom only comes from God. The Bible tells us what will happen in the last days and those things are already happening.

But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! 2 Timothy 3:1–5.

We live in an age where most people are of corrupt minds, such people are very crafty and cannot face the truth. If you are a gullible woman then you will easily fall prey to such people.

For of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 2 Timothy 3:6–7.

If you do not know who you are and whose you are then you will start depending on other people to validate you, and such people will realize how weak you are and they will start taking advantage of you.

Only a person who really loves God will see your weakness and not try to take advantage of you, but an ungodly person will just see an easy prey and they will abuse you and take advantage of you to the maximum. An ungodly person will confuse you until you start doubting yourself, they will take advantage of you and abuse you and then turn around and start blaming you, that is how dishonorable the enemy is!

The Bible says that as a ring of gold in a swine’s snout, so is a lovely woman who lacks discretion. Discretion is defined as “the quality of behaving or speaking in such a way to avoid causing offense or revealing confidential information; the freedom to decide what should be done in a particular situation.” It is carefulness, caution, prudence, good judgement, good sense.

Are you a prudent woman? Are you on every social media site wasting time? Do you spend hours chatting with ‘friends’? Do you expose your family to strangers in an unhealthy way in the name of ‘sharing’? Are you proud and arrogant and cannot apologize? Do you think that everything is about you? Do you try to control your spouse and demand things from them? How much time do you allocate to your spouse and family?

Is God first in your life? Do your friends, work, pleasure, and leisure occupy a position in your life higher than your spouse? Can you be classified as a silly woman preyed upon by lust-filled men? Do you tell the world everything? Do you treat strangers like friends? Do you open up your life, your spouse’s and your family’s life to external attacks through your words, actions, and attitudes? Do you open the doors of your home to the enemy?

If you lack wisdom, ask God to give you wisdom.

Do not be wise in your own ways. Earthly wisdom is sensual and demonic. True wisdom only comes from God, and the fruit of your life is what will bear witness.

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace. James 3:17–18.

Do not follow the ways of the world, trust in the Lord and be led by the Holy Spirit and what the Word of God says. You have nothing to prove to anyone. Live your life to please God and not human beings. Build your home on the firm foundation of Jesus Christ. Ask God to give you understanding of His Word so that you can put it into use in your life and bear good fruit.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. Proverbs 9:10.
