Politically correct

When at would the world be like if there was no politics or power? Across the world there are people who stand with a great label of power and authority. But when looking at a woman in political power or authority it makes men’s heads turn, well some men. Max Weber explains power to be, “the capacity to control others, perhaps even causing them to behave in ways, other than what they prefer. (Grunlan, 205)” Why do men hold and have a difficult time viewing women in ministry? And why do men struggle with Christians being involved in politics and leadership?

The background historical truth of females serving in ministry has been branded by setbacks and gain. Those setbacks remain to be a stronghold for a woman equality in the world of politics and serving in ministry. It has been noted through history that modernists and fundamentalist from a denomination of protestant have declined the movement of woman pastors speaking in the church in the time table of 1930 to 1960’s. The feminist movement for female pastors was created around the era of the 1960’s. There is still a strong belief that a woman will not fully be committed to their ministry or calling in the church. Another myth, it will be hard for a woman operating in church ministry, trying to raise and manage a family, including tending to a husband. Men could argue and say how could a woman, preach, teach and take care of family life. Scholer mentions, “there is still a long way to go before women are fully accepted as pastors. Woman may be ordained, but the walls of prejudice are still present.”

When dealing with women in the church. Woman have become very board and popular and needed in the church, politics and society. There are constant arguments about woman speaking and participating in churches today and operating in ministry and political leadership. Romans 16 explains how women participated in the church. There are a lot of men including people in general who did not agree with woman preachers. Men and women in the world look to scripture try to show proof that women speakers should not speak in local churches or under the authority of the elders. Nor should they teach Sunday school. There are men use 1 Timothy 2:12 often which says, “But I suffer not a woman a to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.” Some people feel that God would not call any women to pastorate in the church or, do anything that would go against the true living word of god. Why not let God use whom he shall choose and allow woman speaking with authority through Christ operate in ministry? Acts 2:17 expresses God pouring out his Spirit on all men in the last days. Including following the book of Joel 2:28–29 which says, “And afterwards I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Yours sons and your daughters will prophesy; your old men will see visions. Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days.” Today’s world you see woman who step up in the church. The woman is committed in ministry and will do the will of God before man in the church and in the streets. The churches today do not have enough men in the church for men to lead or teach. Through observation in some communities’ men will not step up in their positions in the church to take the lead in leadership as and elder or work period in the church. It will always be agreed, coming from a biblical perspective, that the man will always be the head over a woman. Ephesians 5:22–33 gives instructions for a married man and woman and who is head over the woman. God had created order for the man and the woman in 1 Timothy 2:11–15 and behavior for the woman to conduct in front of her husband. “All are given spiritual gifts for the building up an edifying of the Body of Christ.” The Bible does not give instruction of what gift belongs to a certain gender. The gifts are given for all who are a child of the Most High God. What is man to tell a woman she is not able to preach, especially when God had anointed and appointed a woman to speak. Is man than in God’s way when people take the bible out of context and lean on their own understanding and operate out of the flesh. Woe to the person who tries to hinder God’s plan. Woman in ministry have been actively involved since the times of the Old testament, starting with Deborah and in the New testament.

Woman in politics and society have rose to the top and their voices are important as the men when in leadership. There are is a certainty that a lot of men around the world would not agree with woman voicing their opinion or having a leadership position. Woman are here to help the male and are good helpers with planning, loyalty and commitment just like men in leadership and authority. If more men in today’s world would let more woman help with leadership and participating and being involved in world matters. Most times two heads are better than one when dealing with leadership positions. The woman’s approach to make great decisions and be of a sound mind with peace. A great amount of men would disagree with woman being seen in all society works of authority; whether in the church, hold political power or society authority in general. Most men express it is easier for men to get into political and executive positions in business than women. There is skepticism that woman will have a hard time getting over obstacles when in political power. Some barriers that women face in executive and political positions are according to “Pew research center, 38% say a major factor is that woman who run office are held to higher standards than men and need to do more to prove themselves.” The other factor leads to countries not being ready or having the confidence to support or elect woman into higher roles, that includes America. Another reason for a barrier for a woman being in a political or leadership position is, women in high functioning positions do not have enough stable support from party leaders to help them through their journey in a high position. Women are faced regularly with gender discrimination mostly in African Americans and Latino.Lastly men and woman in political positions have different views that may cause a hindrance in leadership business

Romans 13 opens up with the proper way of handling authority and government. By being subjected to our higher powers of authority. A perfect way to start is in verses 1–2 that says, “Let every soul be subject unto the higher the powers. For there is no power but God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resist the power, resist the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.” We learn that a responsible Christian is obligated to honor and respect the government that God has allowed us to be under. Even when challenged by the governments hostilely to our belief. Respect cannot blind our belief to the point of rejecting the Gospel. appreciating Romans 13 and loving one another whatever position is needed and is being projected at the time. The political involvement Christians and the church should have about politics is unavoidable and there should be a balance and a proper approach on how Christians conduct themselves when dealing with political issues. It has been agreed that Christians should not argue about politics with no man. Christians could be more aware of what’s going on in the community, government and participate. The church could provide wise counsel and great overseeing of leadership. The church community will provide truth, peace and justice when helping others. Matthew 5:13–14 explains, Christians are the salt and light of the world and here to help others. The church has a moral obligation and a responsibility when dealing with politics in the church. The community (church) is a part of this government that God had ordained, and he has given us authority to be watchful in prayer for those in leadership and political government. Christians in the church could be more involved and alert in good works and have the heart of an idealism but not to the point of idealism that believers are naive. The Christians world view provides a comprehensive reality of understanding. When Christians engage in good works, that should include participating and being active in the political process. Political theology the establishes and recognizes every area of life for all humanity. Jesus was a socialist and he has taught his disciples to be as well.
