Last week on March 6, Lebron James surpassed Michael Jordan on the all-time NBA scoring list.

James faced the Denver Nuggets and only needed one more point to pass Jordan. With five minutes left on the clock in the second quarter, he managed to score a layup which now gave him 32,294 career points.

A sea of purple and yellow fans across the Staple Center shouted out James’ name, giving him recognition on passing arguably the best player in basketball.

James then sat on the bench with his towel over his face realizing that he passed someone who he wanted to be ever since he picked up a basketball. It was definitely a historic accomplishment for the 34-year-old basketball veteran.

Since this achievement, some fans now believe that Lebron is truly the greatest of all time.

“It’s a done deal, it’s pretty much clear bro that this man Lebron is officially the G.O.A.T,” said Boris Woods who is a student at Southeastern Louisiana University.

Woods is a big time fan of James and thinks that this was one of many accomplishments for him.

“I feel like Lebron is just a better player all-around player,” Woods explained. He also added, “He is the only man in the NBA that honestly play any position on the court.”

Other individuals think that James hasn’t earned the right to himself the greatest of all time just yet.

“Can’t really put him in the G.O.A.T conversation, Jordan won 6 rings case close,” said local Southeastern student Trae Kitchens.

Tykee Nelson, another basketball fan and Southeastern student, agreed that James hasn’t earned the title just yet.

“Lebron is good don’t get me wrong but Jordan has won 6 out of 6 rings and he has won finals MVP in every single one,” said Nelson

This debate has always been a hot topic over the years since James has been in the league and it will continue to be one.

Whether James is the greatest or not, it is a great achievement for him. Not everyone gets to be a professional athlete nor achieve something to this magnitude.

James sits at the number four spot on the scoring list. Only Kobe Byrant, Karl Malone and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar stand are the remanding scorers in front of him.

He only has a little ways to go on becoming the all-time scoring leader. Only time will tell if James will be given the opportunity to do so.
