Ten years ago, I had a wake-up call when I experienced a heart attack and found myself in the hospital without a charger for my cellphone. It was a stressful situation, but the nurses let me borrow one. After my surgery, I realized the importance of preparing for emergencies and created my own Everyday Carry (EDC) kit. This has evolved over the years, becoming more functional and essential to my daily life. In fact, my wife now has her own version, so we’re like EDC twins.

The Basics

The first thing I have in my EDC is my cellphone charger, with a three-meter charging cable. I have chosen the original Apple charger as my goto charger in my sling bag.

  • Charging cable for my watch
  • A short USB A to Lightning cable.
  • Power bank, 10000 mAh with Qi possibility for charging.
  • I have my wired headset on me most of the time. So, I bring my extra Lenovo Thinkplus XT88 with me as a backup.
