In time, the pearl-casters fell out of favor. Their pearls were scattered and crushed beneath the feet of their oppressors. But the pearl-casters adapted, making new balls from dung or clay, and hiding their teachings in the last place anyone would think to look.

The Building is the next parable on the list. So that makes it the third parable out of seven. With The Building, there are two possible parables that could be indicated. The first is The Wise and the Foolish Builders, which is found in both Matthew and Luke, and the second is Counting the Cost, found only in Luke.

This article will focus on Counting the Cost as I can’t find anything hidden in the parable of The Wise and the Foolish Builders. This isn’t to say that there is nothing to be found. Perhaps there is something there, but if so, it evades me.
