The Christian narrative

What is the Christian narrative? I don’t claim to be a Christian, but as near as I understand it, it goes something like this: God created the world in seven days. Then he made Adam to take care of his garden. Later, He created Eve to help Adam.

The serpent tricked Eve into sharing the fruit of knowledge with Adam. This got them kicked out of the garden. Their sin is transferred to their children for all time. Then God sacrificed his son so that all of humanity can enter heaven (or paradise?) even though humanity is tainted with sin.

There is a bit more with Noah, Abraham, and Moses all having their major subplots, but the main throughlines are creation was good until Eve listened to the serpent. Then Jesus died for our sins. Someday Jesus will return, and then all the good people will live together in an earthly paradise with lions and lambs like on the covers of Jehovah's Witness magazines.

So there is Heaven and Hell. There used to be this grey area between the two called purgatory that you could get stuck in unless your surviving relatives greased the wheels a little. Anyway, the system got refined a bit over the years, so don’t worry about purgatory.
