The church is not peripheral to the world; the world is peripheral to the church. (Ephesians 1:23 MSG)

The church of the 21st century is not just stained-glass windows with steeples and pews, but with high value stage production, design thinking and advanced technology. If the world has top-notch broadway-standard theatrical performances, why should the church be any lacking?

This blog seeks to document how the modern church has made used of technology, production and design techniques to augment the worship and church-going experience. For a start, here are 3 amazing stage production elements that you won’t normally see on a regular Sunday.

1. Aerial Dancers

If your church is in a huge world-class theatre venue with high ceilings, why not hang some dancers from the catwalks, much like Cirque du Soleil? Pretty impressive, I would say.

2. Laser

Modern worship experiences now include colourful moving lights, huge LED screens, graphic visualisations and laser projection too!

3. Fire & Pyrotechnics

Along with laser, why not add some fire and pyrotechnics in the process?

These 3 elements add exciting vibe and uniqueness to the church production sphere. If the church is not peripheral to the world, then it should be at the forefront of inventing new theatrical and production techniques for the world to follow.
