Carry Steel, a division of C.W. Carry Ltd., has been established for over 60 years, specializing in the supply and fabrication of structural and miscellaneous steel for oil and gas refineries, heavy oil extraction plants, chemical plants, pulp and paper mills, and commercial, institutional, and industrial buildings.
The company is a full line steel service center offering a wide selection of carbon steel products from a large onsite inventory, as well as value added services (bevel, break, cut, cope, drill/punch, form, roll, shear, stamp, thread and more). Carry Steel also provides complete structural, miscellaneous, and custom steel fabrication supply (project management, drafting, connection design, fabrication, coating, and shipping). They are equipped for steel service centre sales orders and fabrication projects of all sizes, large to very small.
As a third generation, community-minded, family-owned steel service centre and fabricator, Carry Steel has a commitment to gratefully and reliably providing superior customer experiences with a focus on providing fair prices, great quality, and on-time, safely executed projects. The C.W. Carry Chair in Steel Structures, established in February 1994, is focused on advancing, enhancing, and promoting the use of steel in buildings, bridges, and other structures by continuing and strengthening the strong research program that already existed in this area in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and through a strong commitment to education.
Carry Steel is COR certified with the MHSA, CWB certified to W47.1 Division 2, ISO 9001:2015 certified, an active member of the CISC, and fully insured and bonded.
Carry Steel has a long history of collaboration with the University of Alberta through its involvement in several NSERC partnership programs, and currently has active representation on the University of Alberta’s two Construction Innovation Center (CIC) industry steering committees.
