I am a college student currently studying for a BSCS degree. When I first entered college, I thought it wouldn’t be too bad. I was extremely wrong. Being a college student is challenging due to the demanding coursework, the need to balance academic responsibilities with personal life, and the pressure to succeed. The workload is often heavy, requiring significant time and effort to complete assignments, study for exams, and engage in projects. Additionally, students must manage their time effectively, often juggling extracurricular activities, social commitments, and part-time jobs.

One of the best tips I can give to someone going through college is to ask for help. There is no shame in seeking assistance from your friends when you encounter difficulties, especially with homework and projects. This approach has been incredibly beneficial for me. Not only did it help me understand the material better and improve my schoolwork, but it also had a positive impact on my mental health by significantly reducing the stress I would have faced otherwise. This is where the magic of friendship truly shines.

Collaborating with friends transforms challenging tasks into shared experiences, making them more manageable and less daunting. Friendship provides a supportive network that fosters encouragement, knowledge-sharing, and emotional support. One crucial aspect that can significantly lessen the burden and help manage the stress of being a CICT student is the power of friendship. Building strong relationships with fellow students can provide a support system, offering encouragement during tough times and collaboration during complex projects. Friends can share knowledge, study together, and provide much-needed emotional support, making the rigorous academic journey more manageable and enjoyable.

However, it’s important to be considerate of your friends’ time and personal commitments. While asking for help is perfectly okay, always ensure that the other person is willing and able to assist you. Respect their boundaries and be appreciative of their support. Building a network of supportive friendships not only eases the academic burden but also enriches the college experience, making it more enjoyable and less stressful.

College life is challenging, and it’s completely normal to struggle with something unfamiliar. There is absolutely no need for you to suffer alone.
