Temple Run
Temple Run is a game developed for iOS and Android platforms. It is developed by Imangi Studios(creator of Temple Run 2 a sequel of Temple Run). It is a 3D endless running video game. The player controls an explorer who has obtained an ancient relic and is running from demonic monkeys who are chasing them. This game is by far one of my favorite offline games. Whenever I don’t have the data to play online games. I used this one to ease my boredom. Though the graphics is not that super high compare to some games mention above. The gameplay is somewhat enjoyable to me. It has a lots of obstacles you never expect. It’s thrilling to play knowing there is someone chasing after you so you do your best not to be caught.
PLOT
The underlying plot to the game is that the character, controlled by the player, steals a golden idol from an Aztec Evil Demon Monkeys to attempt to catch the player in order to get the idol back. The game begins when the player steals the idol and ends when the character is caught by the monkeys or hits an obstacle, at which point the idol is returned to the temple and the player can attempt to steal it again.
GAME ELEMENTS
- CHARACTERS:
- GUY DANGEROUS — in the original game, he embarks on a journey to steal the Idol from the Temple. Guy Dangerous is the default character and wears a tan shirt, blue pants, and brown boots. He is described as just your average explorer and he also has his own wallpaper that can be purchased for 5,000 Coins. In Temple Run 2, he appears as the default character and comes with the shield power up. He has red hair, a muscular body, fair skin, green pants, brown boots, and with a tan shirt that appears more bloodstained and torn up than his last one.
2. SCARLET FOX — is a female character in both Temple Run and Temple Run 2. she is described as a “cunning escape artist”. She wears a pale-grey tank top with colorful straps on her back, a greyish backpack, and olive green pants.
3. EVIL DEMON MONKEYS — are the main antagonists of Temple Run and its sequel, Temple Run 2. They chase the player in their quest to retrieve the golden idol. The Demon Monkeys have skull like masks on their heads and black fur.

GAMEPLAY AND FLOW:
The game makes use of swiping controls to control the character. A swipe up makes the character jump, a swipe down makes the character slide, and a swipe to the side makes the character turn in that direction. In addition, the player can tilt the device, taking advantage of it’s gyroscope capabilities to make the character move from side to side within the boundaries of the area to collect coins. The player once collecting money can use that money to buy new characters and items.
Temple Run is a good game if you feel bored and you don’t have the data or connection from Wi-Fi. Just open the app and dive into the world of adventure while someone is chasing at you. No matter how many times you fail, you can’t stop from giving up on trying until you surpass your previous high score and buy items that you like.
