H. Upmann, founded by a British banker named Herman Upmann, has become one of my favourite cigar brands. Upmann always seems to produce a sophisticated smoke (which I suppose makes sense for a brand that’s been producing cigars since the 19th century...).
Some compare Upmann’s No. 2 to the better known Montecristo No. 2; however, I prefer the Upmann, as I find it to be less harsh and more approachable.
The No. 2 is a 45 to 60 minute smoke, full of earthy flavours with and hint of light coffee beans. The smoke can be enjoyed on any occasion, but I find it to be most enjoyable before dinner with a glass of prosecco or champagne.
