Explore the APRICOT 2020 program

The APRICOT 2020 program is now final — check it out!

There’s plenty of technical content in the program, including the regular Asia Pacific Operators Forum (APOPS) tracks, sessions on cybersecurity, networking, IPv6 and the Peering Forum. There are also several tutorials on offer to extend your learning.

Don’t miss the Opening Ceremony and Plenary with keynote presentations by ICANN CTO, David Conrad, and Prof. Mark A Gregory from RMIT University’s School of Engineering. The Closing Plenary will be headlined by Prof. Hanna Suominen from ANU College of Engineering and Computer Science.

Participate remotely

Can’t attend in person? Most sessions will be webcast through YouTube and Zoom, and some of the sessions will also be transcribed. Zoom will have a chat function so you can provide questions during Q&A and presentations will also be available for download during the event.

Connect with your peers

There are several social events during the week to connect with your peers, including the 25th APRICOT Party at the famous Regent Theatre Plaza Ballroom.

Each morning of the conference, there will be a free one-hour Melbourne Cultural Walking Tour, where you can learn about the iconic landmarks that make Melbourne special.

APNIC Lounge

Have a question about your APNIC membership or need more IP addresses? Visit the APNIC Lounge to speak one-on-one with the Member Services team, or book a consultation with an APNIC Hostmaster for a confidential discussion.

NextGen Careers BoF

Internet leaders from Amazon Web Services, Microsoft and HFC Bank will be sharing their advice, experiences and knowledge on how to build a successful career in Internet operations at the NextGen Careers BoF.

Don’t miss this great opportunity to get some practical advice on how to engineer your career!

Participate in the APNIC 49 Policy SIG

Three proposals are up for discussion at the APNIC 49 Policy SIG:

Good policy relies on a range of opinions — the community wants to hear from you! Have your say about the proposals by subscribing to the mailing list, or participating in person or remotely during the Policy SIG.

Health and Safety at APRICOT 2020

With heightened global concerns around novel coronavirus (COVID-19), the APRICOT Secretariat recommends all delegates maintain good personal hygiene at the conference:

  • Wash your hands frequently with soap and water.
  • Consider carrying personal hand sanitiser for use when soap and water are not readily available.
  • Keep your distance from anyone who is obviously sick and avoid direct contact with them.
  • Seek medical attention if you develop symptoms of respiratory illness, especially fever or shortness of breath.

Hand sanitiser is available around the APRICOT venue.

APNIC needs your help

APNIC is developing a range of products designed specifically for its Members, but needs your help with product research.

If you’re interested, make a booking for one or all of the discussion sessions. You don’t have to do anything before the session — just provide some feedback so APNIC can improve its products and services to fit your needs better.

You’ll receive a thank you gift for participating.

APNIC EC election

Online voting and proxy appointment are open for the EC election at APNIC 49. Voting entitlements are only available to individuals who are Corporate Contacts, or authorized contacts with voting rights given by the Corporate Contact.

See the list of nominees.
