Was Marvel Studios’ Eternals as bad as we remember? I have watched the movie several times, and I think, although not perfect, it is one of the better films from Marvel. Just hear me out.

Eternals, directed by Chloé Zhao, was released in 2021 and is the 21st MCU film. It was the third film in Phase 4 after Black Widow(2021) and Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings(2021). It featured a fleet of new characters such as Sersi (Gemma Chan), Ikaris (Richard Madden), Kingo (Kumail Nanjiani), Sprite (Lia McHugh), Phastos (Brian Tyree Henry), Makkari (Lauren Ridloff), Druig (Barry Keoghan), Gilgamesh (Don Lee), led by Ajak (Salma Hayek). Because the director had just won a Best Director Award for her movie Nomadland, the movie was highly anticipated, but the general response to the movie was lukewarm at best. Contrary to the reception by critics, I found the movie to be beautiful and to have a calming quality about it. That being said, the movie is far from perfect.

Before getting to the positives, let’s address the underwhelming parts.
