Depending on one’s tolerance for Rob Zombie’s white trash aesthetic and/or annoyingly repetitive mob chants, Halloween Resurrection is the most likely candidate for the worst entry in the Halloween franchise. Fans of Michael Myers generally balk at its retcons, its kung fu nonsense and its early-00s attempts at edginess. None of the Halloween sequels are perfect, but this one in particular is the bottom of the blood-soaked barrel for most fans.

Well, I heartily disagree.

While Resurrection never matches the sheer terror of the original or the jarring gore of the reboot trilogy, there are plenty of things to like about this movie. Here are some of the biggest complaints against Halloween Resurrection and why those complaints are, in my opinion, wrong.

‘Halloween Resurrection’ has disappointing kills.

First of all, it’s important to note that, of all the major 20th-century slasher franchises, Halloween probably has the least variety in its kills.
