It’s not unusual for movies to hide profound meaning and takeaways for the viewer. They act as metaphors that our brains can understand at a deep level, and make positive changes without even realizing it.
In hypnotherapy, the idea is that the conscious mind is distracted while important ideas are sent to the subconscious to allow us to make lasting, positive change. In movies, the story and the action of a film distract us consciously while the deep messages do their work, and we don’t even notice. That’s the mark of a truly great film.
