It was very recently announced that Sex and the City would be returning to our screens. The newest reboot, And Just Like That was announced on Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon’s Instagram accounts with a teaser trailer, and I‘m all for it.

An avid fan of the original show (not so much of the movies), the news that my favourite ladies would be returning felt like my friends and I were meeting up after years apart from one another.

The blurb on IMDB says, “The series will follow Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s.”

The idea of seeing these women in their fifties, still living in New York is going to be very interesting. A new chapter for the women who helped a generation of young girls grow into strong-minded, successful powerhouses is exactly what’s needed right now.

However, the news that Kim Cattrall wouldn’t be returning has dominated the headlines, instead of focusing on the upcoming mini-series.
