Being thankful for struggles.
Recently, I noticed how tired I was about everything going on in my life. School is stressful, people disappoint you, and tests are hard. But after careful reflection, I have come to see the beauty in all of my struggles and how they have shaped me into the person I am today.
I am thankful for being a woman of color, it has shaped me into a strong woman, who strives for the highest quality of work in whatever I do. To do my best in whatever task is in front of me. It has made me
I am thankful for every embarrassing moment I’ve had in college, yes, even sliding into the street on my butt, it has given me the ability to bounce back, try not to take life too seriously, laugh at myself every now and again.
I am thankful for my friends, who deal with me stressing, go with me to Insomnia Cookies past 1 in the morning, and of course, have tea time with me. I am thankful for them supporting me through thick and thin. I am thankful for
I am thankful for professors, who give me the motivation to kill a final after previously not having done well on midterms.
I am thankful for boys who are not nice to me. Thanks for not allowing me to lower my standards, and for making me have the common decency to say “hello” to people I know.
I am thankful for whoever invented Cheeze-Its because they are always there for me in times of need and comfort. I’d also like to give a shoutout to the owners of Talenti, for inventing the Sea Salt Caramel flavor, just well done. I am thankful for Wings Over Ithaca, for making delicious waffle fries that do a pretty good job of subbing for Chick-Fil-A fries.
I am thankful for whoever invented air conditioning as well. Thanks for keeping me cool because I don’t like sweating.
I am thankful for my mother, who is not only my biggest fan, but I’ve also come to realize is always right. Every. Single. Time. I’m thankful for her laughing at my stories and constantly reminding me I’m the best. I am thankful for the strong work ethic that she instilled in me.
I am also thankful for the tea. Life is always a bit more fun when you have tea to spill.
Struggles make me strong and I am grateful for all of my past struggles and the ones that I will face in the future.
