“My friend’s attitude surprised me,I didn’t expect to be ignored this way”.
“ What a surprise!! You came only for my birthday…”

Both these sentences express SURPRISE but portraying two very different emotions. To be or get surprised is a very general term we use to express a whole bunch of varied feelings. Getting shocked or dismayed results in being startled, disillusioned or perplexed has one feeling confused and these ultimately are expressed as surprised. Astonishment and being in awe of something would amaze one, and eagerness and being energetic has one feeling excited these also can well be expressed as being ‘Surprised’!
So now how do we ‘handle’ these various faces of surprise….

The feeling of surprise which is accompanied by some kind of dismay, disillusionment, or confused generally leaves one feeling sad, hurt, angry, and maybe unwanted. To handle or deal with these feelings one tends to become moody, probably destructive, violent, a loner, distrustful of others.

Whereas if eagerness or being overwhelmed, amazed, just thrilled do get one feeling surprised, then the said person could be happy, bubbly, and just wanting to spread happiness all over.
