Get on 'What if' and dump 'What is'

While we are still lost in things around us and fighting over supremacy of iOS over android or vice-a-versa, the next generation has already dumped the today’s world and is moving on.

I got four 11 year olds in a room and tried to extract some of their thoughts on future technologies and their vision. They were subjected to some questions which were prefixed with “What if”. It was amazing to see their response. What was most surprising was that none of their ideas about future featured mobile phones, iOS, Android, smart TVs and any existing pieces of technology.

My two pence of advice to innovators, technologists, entrepreneurs, designers and younger generation would be to dump “what is” and start focusing on “what if”.
