“Gender equality is more than a goal in itself. It is a precondition for meeting the challenge of reducing poverty, promoting sustainable development and building good governance.” — Kofi Annan

To commemorate International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, we are celebrating the many achievements and strides women have made toward women’s rights and equality by launching a new blog series called “The Women Behind the Magic.”

You may have heard of the “Meraki Magic” — bringing simple solutions to an already complex world. Now, we want you to meet the women who help create this magic. This series will highlight Meraki women from all walks of life, who are part of our various teams across the globe. These women have inspired us with their bravery when navigating through uncharted waters, shattering the glass ceiling to earn a seat at the table, and persevering despite having the odds stacked against them.

Because these women inspire us every day, we will be sharing these stories throughout the year, rather than limiting them to the month of March. We believe it is essential for us to provide a platform for where women can share their stories and experiences, and not only shed light on the progress that has been made, but also on the work that is still left to be done.

Here at Cisco Meraki, we have made it our commitment to create a more diverse and inclusive community. And we know that to bring about actual change, we need to listen and learn from women who have lived through the experiences of being the only female at the table or working in a typically male-dominated industry.

Our goal through this blog series is to amplify the voices of these women, and through their stories, we hope to inspire, encourage, and start a conversation around gender diversity that will lead to a more equal and inclusive workforce.
