Mission Moment: Citizen Subscriber Reports Stolen Vehicle
Yesterday, we shared with you how Citizen Premium can help you if your vehicle is stolen.
If a theft is in progress, or has recently occurred, Citizen Agents will promptly alert 911 and assist the subscriber through the process. If a theft occurred hours or days ago, the team may connect with non-emergency lines to start a police report for our subscribers, or verify existing reports with police departments in order to publish information on our platform. Open communication with law enforcement helps our Citizen Agents be more transparent with communities.
Today’s Mission Moment is about a Citizen subscriber’s Volkswagen, which was reportedly stolen right in front of them last week. According to the subscriber, they were in the process of teaching someone how to drive when the person suddenly took off, leaving them behind. The subscriber quickly started a video call with Agent Christopher, stating the incident had occurred in a laundromat parking lot.
The Citizen Agent looped in the local police department so officers could meet with the subscriber and follow location pings from an iPad that was left in the vehicle. With the help of Safety Desk, an alert was sent out to the community that included the vehicle’s full description and last known location. While we were not able to locate the stolen car in real time, Christopher assisted this caller by calmly gathering the necessary information required for law enforcement to respond and provided a quality end-to-end user experience during a stressful situation.
