LGBTQIA+ History Month has been recognised for many years as a month of inspirational events, honouring achievements and raising awareness. We are part of a global movement to bring around equality to the LGBTQIA+ community. At Citizens Advice, we recognise the importance of support and advice for many struggles individuals go through.

Below, you can find information for various charities across Greater Manchester.

Support and advice for the LGBTQIA+ community

LGBT Foundation.

Provide a wide range of support for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people.

Proud Trust.

Support the LGBTQIA+ community through peer support, mentoring programmes and the proud connections chat service.

African Rainbow Family.

This group supports members of the LGBTQIA+ community, who are of African heritage and the wider, black, Asian, minority ethnic groups. They provide support for refugees and people seeking asylum. As well as, support for hate crimes.

This is a social and support group in Manchester. It is the largest biseual support group in Manchester.

This is a service that aims to promote understandings of gender diversity and improve transgender individuals quality of life.

Young People.

42nd Street, Inside Out.

This service supports young people aged 13–25 who are party of the LGBTQIA+ community. They offer individual therapeutic support with an ‘out’ LGBTQIA+ worker and deliver groups and projects throughout the year.

Older and Bolder.

This is a social and support group for men over 40 who identify as gay, bisexual or who are questioning. They meet every 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month (7:30–9pm).
