In Dallas on Thursday, Beto O’Rourke commented on potential extradition of Julian Assange after an immigration roundtable campaign event.

Citizen Source reporter Secret Stacy asked O’Rourke about Assange and whether or not he deserves protection under the first amendment.

While O’Rourke stopped short of commenting on the current case, he said:

“I want to make sure that we don’t do anything that chills the ability to hold people in positions of public trust accountable, to make sure that the public and the press have the facts to make informed decisions. So, i’ll just say those are my values, without commenting on a specific case. but I’m concerned about how this administration has approached Julian Assange.”

O’Rourke is one of the only 2020 candidates to speak out on the issue of Julian Assange.
