What the Heck is Sustainability? A Brief Look into Its Origin and Paradigm

These past years we have heard a lot about the so called ‘sustainability’. Governments are working hard to apply it into their policies, scientists are trying to find breakthrough discoveries that would help the success of sustainability projects, and youths all over the world are rallied to give their ideas and supports.

Well, it is no wonder though since countries through Paris Agreement put a deadline in 2030 for sustainability to be largely implemented all over the world, so of course the thing creates a lot of buzz.

Yet, some of us may still be a bit clueless about this sustainability thingy. Why is it so important anyway? Shouldn’t we put our focus to strengthen the economy? Is it just because world leaders suddenly agreed upon something? And did sustainability just pop up out of nowhere in 2015?
