Our Team Is Growing! Meet India, Pat and Kamilah
We are so excited to welcome India Daniels, Pat Sier and Kamilah Rashied to our City Bureau team. It’s a busy time of growth for us at City Bureau. Pat & India will be helping to expand the capacity of our Documenters program and other essential projects, while Kamilah will work closely with our Press Club members and other supporters, all in service of our mission to produce more equitable, inclusive journalism for the city of Chicago.
As part of our hiring spree, we’ve also been thinking very hard about how to grow with integrity—incorporating the many lessons you shared with us after we blogged about it early this year, and building organizational policies and an employee handbook that reflect our core values. Stay tuned as we roll out more hiring news and blogs about the recruitment/hiring/interviewing process, and what types of staff policies we have created in order to create a happier and more productive workplace.
India Daniels is City Bureau’s new Documenters Field Coordinator. India grew up in Kenwood and studied history and literature at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Mich. Pat Sier joins our team full-time after several months helping to build our Documenters platform. Pat is a web developer with a degree in public policy. In the past he’s worked on building tools for research centers that make data easier to understand. He’s also the webmaster for the South Side Weekly, and has worked on civic tech projects involving tenants’ rights and the justice system. You can reach him at email@example.com.
Kamilah Rashied is our new Donor Community Manager. Kamilah is a producer, administrator, educator and interdisciplinary artist. She has worked from every angle of cultural production as an arts administrator, with 17 years of experience in new program development, community-based programming and civic-minded audience engagement, contributing to many venerable arts and culture organizations in Chicago.
