Time has come to empower the global AI movement in Brussels, the capital of Belgium and of Europe. We believe that energizing and hyper connecting the AI ecosystem will open up new perspectives for an accelerated economic development in Belgium.

With the launch of Brussels AI on May 23rd at BeCentral, we offer a platform to AI communities to connect them with domain experts from diverse fields such as marketing, health, education, agriculture, finance, transportation etc.

Brussels AI is part of the global applied AI community City AI, a global non-profit organization of AI practitioners, present across 50+ cities on 6 continents. With the support from City AI, the ideas, works and contributions from our local Brussels-based community will be shared with similar communities around the world.

By establishing Brussels AI as the Brussels-based chapter of City AI, we aim to provide the following benefits to the ecosystem:

  1. Companies from all sectors interested to understand and learn about AI will have access to events, conferences, content and networking opportunities.
  2. AI beginners, intermediate AI developers and Domain Experts will exchange learnings and best practises which they in turn can help them expand the economic footprint of AI for the greater good of all.
  3. Solving community problems using cutting edge technology like AI and learning from what others have already tried and developed in other countries will help our society progress further.
  4. Enabling policy makers to connect with and understand what are the challenges that companies, startups, research bodies, societal groups and communities are facing and how we can work on solutions together.

Our first community event will make a deep dive into the field of marketing innovations with the topic of “AI in Marketing — pain or pleasure”. The agenda of the launch event on May 23rd will cover 3 key areas:

DISCOVER: 20min talks of industry peers sharing insights and actionable advice based on hands-on experiences applying AI.

  • Google will highlight how Machine Learning and AI will disrupt every sector, industry and company
  • Tapptic will take us through the opportunities of AI in a user-centric world

SHARE: 10min clinic sessions for practitioners to share their specific challenge applying AI gathering initial feedback from industry peers and fellow practitioners.

  • Clear Channel will provide us with a double thought on how AI will drive (or not) the future of out-of-home communication
  • Dentsu Aegis Consulting will help you ask the right questions before you spend money on AI
  • Pivott will share how an agency turnaround was driven from the insight that AI driven marketing automation can optimally address disruptive consumer behavior

CONNECT: During the closing cocktail and walking dinner, you will enjoy peer-to-peer conversations on any topic going from Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing to Computer Vision connecting with new and leading practitioners in your technology and business realm.

Further throughout the year, new events and forums will be set up with a focus on exchanging ideas and coming up with solutions in varied sectors.

We could not be more excited and hopeful about our mission to create AI solutions to transform Brussels and the larger Belgian economy for the greater good.

Looking forward to kick off with you this exciting initiative! Join us on May 23rd.
