We are incredibly excited to share that the first public CityGrows process is successfully up and running with the City of Santa Monica. CityGrows was the winner of the City of Santa Monica’s 2015 Hack the Beach challenge, and since early 2016 we’ve been working closely with City staff to refine our platform and respond to the features the City needs.

For their first implementation, Santa Monica is using the CityGrows platform to manage their Worksite Transportation Plan process. The City requires employers with between 10–29 employees to submit an annual plan that documents how their employees get to work, and how they support and inform employees about sustainable transportation options.

CityGrows is a great solution for any local government looking to move paper processes online. We’re particularly excited that Santa Monica is allowing businesses to pay any fees associated with the Worksite Transportation Plan via CityGrows. More than 100 local businesses have already completed the process on CityGrows!

CityGrows and the City of Santa Monica have similar goals — promoting civic engagement and creating strong bonds between constituents and our local government. Huge thanks to city staff at every level, particularly Jack Moreau in the planning department and City Manager Rick Cole for setting expectations high for civic innovation. We thank the whole team at the City of Santa Monica for being incredible collaborators.
