Summer, believe it or not, is just around the corner (okay, everyday in Los Angeles is summer but for everyone else). I know, we *JUST* got done with Easter, Passover, and Marathon Monday, but before you know it June will be here.
And with June comes summer vacation. And summer vacation means summer jobs.
Many cities and towns offer summer jobs programs to local youth — it’s an opportunity for young people to build up work history and connect with their communities.
Youth summer job program applications are also a great use case for CityGrows. 92% of teenagers in America use the internet at least once per day, meaning cities and towns that only offer paper-based job applications are missing an opportunity to connect with their local constituents.
At CityGrows, we built out a sample SYEP (summer youth employment program) application template to demonstrate how easy it can be to collect and manage summer job applications completely online.
Step 1: check out our SYEP job application template, here.
Step 2: create a free CityGrows user admin account, here.
Step 3: clone the template into your admin account, publish the process and voila, you’re ready to go. Just post the link to your process wherever you advertise the program.
Step 4: monitor the program as applications come in (online). Job application data can be tracked in CityGrows, with automatic notifications going out to job applicants via email as the process advances.
Step 5: whenever the application period closes, change the process status to not be available to the public.
Applying for a job will never be easy, but with CityGrows local governments can help reduce the frustration of the job application process for both applicants and city staff by offering online applications and tracking…for free.
Because there are no fees associated with job applications, there’s no fee for local governments to use CityGrows for the process (if you want to read more about our approach to pricing, check out our webpage).
