We are officially announcing our PVP beta. We know many of you have been anticipating this moment for quite some time now and we’re excited to reveal our beta plans!

Key Points:

The beta is scheduled to go live this Saturday (15th January). This is a date we are confident in announcing now, however please keep in mind that if on the rare chance anything comes up, we may need to delay this.

We will run the beta for two weeks (ending on the 29th January).

We will host a tournament in which players will battle for honour, glory and of course, prizes (more below)!

Players will have access to their hero cards from our recent pack sale. Different rarities will share the same stats since heroes are unbalanced.

We have limited gear to common rarity only in order to focus on testing certain elements and to allow players to have a fair matchmaking experience.

Ranked/Tournament win/loss will be disabled for the first three days allowing players to learn the mechanics of battle.

Gold and Silver VIP Pass holders will have access to the beta.

Torneamentum de Magnus

Our first official CityStates tournament will be a big part of the beta. Although the primary focus of a beta launch is to test and improve the game through bug reports and feedback (which we strongly encourage you do), we decided that we also wanted to give players something to achieve on a personal level as well as to mark this huge occasion.

Tournament details:

After the first three days of testing and getting used to combat mechanics, players wins and losses will be tracked via a leader board.

Players will then have 7 days to battle it out and farm ranking points against each other.

After the 7th day, a snapshot of the leader board will be taken. The top 13 available players will be entered in the tournament and matched against each other.

The Torneamentum de Magnus will be a knockout style tournament in which the Semi Finals and Final will be recorded/streamed, shoutcasted and available for all to see.

The top 3 placing players on the in game leader board at the time of the snapshot will be seeded, meaning that they are granted an auto win for the first leg of the tournament.

Competitors will play their games over 4 days:

Round #1 (5 games) 25th January
Round #2 (4 games — with seeded players) 26th January
Round #3 (2 games) 27th January
Round #4 (1 game — semi final) 28th January
Round #5 (1 game— final) 28th January

We would like to stay ahead of these dates for games, however if it suits contestants to play a game earlier we will do our best to accommodate that.

Winners of matches will be decided from a best out of three games scenario.

If two players cannot arrange a time to play they will need to contact FruitGuru on Discord who will review the situation and act accordingly. Failure to do so will disqualify both players.

Prizes:

1st Place:
Exclusive Tournament Gold Medal commemorating the victory
Rare Magnus NFT Card
Rare Card Pack

2nd Place:
Exclusive Tournament Silver Medal commemorating the placement
Uncommon Magnus NFT Card
Uncommon Card Pack

3rd Place:
Exclusive Tournament Bronze Medal commemorating the placement
Common Magnus NFT Card
Common Card Pack

Medals?

At this point you’re probably wondering what these entail, and we’re really excited to reveal this. Medals are specifically made and awarded for the top three placing players in our official tournaments. They are a highly prestigious award reserved only for the mightiest of battle hardened strategic masterminds.

Medals are issued as an NFT to your account. They can not be sold or traded making the only people who hold them are those who earned them.

This is a huge milestone for the project, we love hosting events of all types, however having our first in game event is a precious moment and we can’t wait to share it with you!
