Magnus is the first Hero for our upcoming blockchain game CityStates: Medieval.

The 3D model for Magnus is a creation by the very talented Abimael Gonzales — also responsible for all the hand painted buildings and most of the icons in CityStates. Abimael recently worked on Far Cry 6 by Ubisoft and currently on Party Animals by ReCreate. Primarily an environment artist I was surprised when I spotted Magnus on his portfolio — and fell in love with the style instantly.

  • High poly made in Zbrush
  • Retopology and Uv’s in 3dsMax.
  • Textures in Substance Painter and Photoshop.
  • Final Renders in Marmoset.

The 3D model was based on the work of renowned concept artist Geraud Soulie who has so many big names and titles under his name (Blizzard/WoW, Spyro, Crash Bandicoot, Immortal Fenyx Rising etc) that you just need to check out his portfolio.

For the card design, we’ve been heavily inspired by Robbie Tilton and found the talent Axcel to help bring our vision to life — entirely in blender by the way. And for the final touch, Riccardo Triglia who already composed several stunning tracks for CityStates provided us with a fitting loop for the card reveal:

Magnus is not available for sale yet and will be limited to 1,111 units. Of these, only 1,000 max will be sold with the remaining given away as rewards and in community contests or held by the team.

MasterNFTs

11 MasterNFTs will be sold as a passive income source whenever Magnus is sold or auctioned off by players (this includes pre-sales).
