Welcome to our weekly CityStates newsletter. Through this, we will keep you updated with the latest exciting developments for CityStates games, our community events as well as to give our passionate community the chance to interact with the team or see some fantastic behind the scenes work done!
Last week we mentioned that December was going to be a big month for CityStates and if you kept tabs on our socials, you may have seen that the team and Discord mods started play testing the pre-beta build to make sure everything will run as smoothly as possible for the upcoming beta release. The team enjoyed battling it out and getting to grips with the many layers of combat, experimenting with different formations, unit builds and also welcoming the satisfying feeling of smiting foes on the battlefield! Most importantly, we all had a load of fun doing it and we are very excited to see the communities reaction once the beta goes live!
Weekly Game Update Summary
We had mentioned that we weren’t going to show anything till the beta was released. If you saw our two previous newsletters, we even had a bit of fun showing seasonal gifts wrapped up and clearly marked “Do not open till beta!”. However, let’s be honest, sometimes you just can’t wait, the gift inside is too tempting and when no one is looking you tear off the paper to get a sneak peak at what you’re getting, which is exactly what we did for you after we had such a great time doing our internal play testing!
This week, we want to share with you a video showing you where the PvP combat aspect of the game is at in all its glory, complete with a 5v5 game and a look at both the hero cards and unit loadout.
Community Events
Last week we teased our upcoming Discord quiz night which is going ahead this week. We are also pleased to release our first “Hero Spotlight” article which is a new series that will give fans the chance to learn more about their favourite heroes and give them the chance to ask the team questions they may have in spotlights going forward!
Hero Spotlight: Freya
We managed to grab a hold of hero concept artist Ein_Art who fielded some questions about Freya’s design inspirations and was even kind enough to show us some early sketches!
Discord Quiz Night Details
Our Discord quiz night will be held on Tuesday 14th at 11PM GMT:0. Prizes will include Bronze and Silver VIP Passes, HEX, and Discord Nitro gifts to those knowledgeable enough to win!
VIP Pass Auctions
All 100 of our Gold VIP Passes have now been minted! We are currently auctioning off the remaining Silver VIP Passes. We have also added some extra Bronze VIP Pass auctions to ensure that everyone who wants to take part in our upcoming pack sale still has a chance to do so.
CSM Token
The CSM token represents ownership of the CityStates IP. Holders of CSM not only show their support for the brand but will also receive royalties in the future for their participation in DAO governance of the IP development.
