I felt God whisper to me that prayer is powerful. To be honest, I do not remember the context, and only remember the day it happened, June 24, because I wrote it down in my journal.

I have always done prayer. It might not have been the most mature of prayers but it is something I have always done. At the infancy of my prayer life, I was always perplexed by its working even as I was in the act of praying. I never fully understood the power of it.

And I still can not say assuredly that I entirely comprehend the power of it. One thing I can say confidently though is that, regardless of how it works, prayer is powerful. The fact is proven countless times in the Old and New Testaments, abundantly through the life of David in the Book of Psalms, and discussed at length in the lives of the Saints and foremost Jesus.

God’s gracious whisper has been daily ringing loudly in my mind. It has pushed me to take opportunities set before me to pray for and with people, to bless and to be in blessing as we are under petition and prayer to God. This has also cultivated a desire in me to have ears that are attune to the language of the Holy Spirit, that I may hear His whispers clearly and ask in petition for His glory to be made known where He ordains it to be.
