How to Transfer My Wallet Account To Metamask
MetaMask is the most widely supported Dex wallet, here is how to migrate to it
Installing MetaMask
To import an existing wallet to a MetaMask account, follow these simple step-by-step instructions. You will need to install the MetaMask extension for your favorite browser, import a wallet using private key or JSON file and add your CIV and other tokens to the list.
In this tutorial I show you how to install MetaMask extension for Mozilla Firefox and how to import it using your seed phrase.
1. Install the MetaMask extension on your browser.
Open https://metamask.io website.
2. Click “Download now”
In the next page click “Install Metamask for Firefox” (if you use Chrome, it will be “Install Metamask for Chrome”).
3. Click Add to Firefox
(or Chrome or the browser you are using) and give consent to your browser to install the extension.
That’s it!

You have successfully installed the MetaMask extension. Now, it is time to add your existing cryptocurrency wallet.
Importing an existing wallet to Metamask
If you have your seed words (mnemonic phrase) you can export your wallet straight away:
Click the fox icon
in the upper right corner of your window to open MetaMask extension.
It will open in a new separate window or in a new tab, depending from your settings.
Click on the blue button to start (“Empezar” is Spanish for “START”)
Metamask will ask you if you want to create a new wallet, or if you already have one.
In this tutorial, we want to import one using our seed phrase. So tell the fox “Yes, I already own a wallet, I have a recovery phrase”. (In the picture, to the left to import, to the right to create a new one).
Click “Import Wallet”
Read and accept their conditions.
Now… let’s see why you don’t have to give your seed phrase to anyone for no reasons and you don’t have to write it in unknown sites.
https://metamask.io is trusted. Just be sure to digit it in the browser and avoid clicking on the link.
It will ask you to
write your mnemonic seed phrase
In the first field, write your seedphrase, all lowercase and with spaces between a word and another.
In the second field, choose a strong password.
Repeat the password in the third field.
Click on the square to accept their ToS.
Import.
Now, you will see your wallet with your ETH amount. But where are your tokens?
Let’s import CIV. Click on “Import tokens”.
Then, click on “Custom Token”.
Paste the CIV contract address in the first field. The other ones will be automatically filled.
Civ contract address:
0x37fe0f067fa808ffbdd12891c0858532cfe7361d
Now, click on “Add Custom Token”
and in the next screen you will see your token with the amount.
I have 0 CIV in this wallet, but you will see your amount. Click on “Import token”.
Done!!!
