Move ETH from Ethereum Network to Polygon / Matic Network
Have you seen an NFT you are interested in on Opensea’s Polygon Network, but have no idea how to buy it? This very little guide will be useful for you!
Move ETH from Ethereum network to Polygon / Matic network with Metamask
1- Go up https://opensea.io and connect the wallet.
2. Click on the wallet symbol at the top right.
3. Click on the 3 dots next to ETH Ethereum and choose “Bridge to Polygon”
4. Select the amount of Eth to be moved to the Polygon network and click on “Convert tokens”.
You will need to pay for a transaction. My advice is to move more than you need, because the bridge transaction IS PAID EVERY TIME, while there are no transaction costs to buy and sell NFTs within the Polygon / Matic network. Don’t panic, as this transaction is usually slow.
Move ETH from Ethereum network to Polygon / Matic network with TrustWallet
1: Go to the DApps section and type the address https://opensea.io/collection/civfund
2. Select the NFT to buy and click on “Buy now”
3. Select the quantity of NFTs we want to buy (usually 1), give consent (you are saying that you know what you are going to buy, it is normal for new profiles and what we use for Treasure Hunt is) and click on checkout.
4. Convert the amount you need from the Ethereum network to the Polygon / Matic network
You will need to pay for a transaction. My advice is to move more than you need, because the bridge transaction IS PAID EVERY TIME, while there are no transaction costs to buy and sell NFTs within the Polygon / Matic network.
5. Wait for the money to be moved. It takes a while, sometimes even a couple of hours. Don’t panic.
6. There are two more transactions to be confirmed, at no cost. One to give Trust Wallet consent to use the token (a bit like the “Accept token” of swaps) and one to confirm the NFT purchase transaction.
