Being at the forefront of technological advancement, Estonia is ranked1st in legalizing testing of self-driven vehicles on public roads. TTD’s project of a driverless bus is now accessible to the public for transportation.

One of the primary reasons for thrusting the bus on the route from Kadriorg tram stop to Kumu Art Gallery was the unavailability of transport for tourists. Supplementing traditional buses would have inflicted abounding problems to the city as the streets are narrower, which eventually worked best for mini-busses.

Despite a few misses to red-lights, the TTD’s project was a success in its pilot launch in summer with no problems reported. The designs of these buses are such that, that they can run and squeeze themselves into any street, without imposing worries for the city to develop new tram lines infrastructure, thus avoiding high costs of new infrastructure implementation.

Projecting superlative performance in the pilot phase, the existing patterns could be scaled from the existing manufacturing of 8 occupancies to relatively furthermore of at least 15. With the data collected the capability of the buses could be increased by optimizing their algorithmic performances. The city now has extended a new route of 600 meters that will stretch from Tallinn’s Old Port to Lepistiku, while bringing the bus stops closer to medical centers for easy access to the populace.
