Signal3: Possible solutions to MTA delay

When we talk about MTA delay, there are two types : random delay and delay caused by other trains’ delay.

Random delay is mainly due to incidents like too much riders in peak period, the solution is to increase staff on the platform to supervise riders’ situation

Another kind of delay is delay caused by other trains. Last week I talked about taking one or two trains into consideration and analyze them separately. There are other ways to solve the problem without disturbing the MTA system, which is simulation.

Use simulation software to find the possible solutions , load your data into the system, analyze riders and trains flow. The key to operate simulation system is to consider two models. One considers how to make riders’ delay time short, the other one considers how to protect trains from disturbs and run in a normal way.
