Air pollution is always an ongoing issue around the world. According to World Health Organization (WHO), more than 90% of the world’s population breath air which its quality level exceeds the WHO limits and there are over 7 million of deaths around the world due to air pollution which represents one-eighth of global death. These horrible numbers no doubt state the problem. In order to ameliorate the problem, one way is to monitor and record the level of pollutants like PM2.5 and Carbon emissions and use the dataset to look for new sights for more reliable solutions. Hawa Dawa from Germany has established a technology company that implements this idea. They build a briefcase-sized IoT sensor device connected to Wi-Fi as well as collaborate with European space agency (ESA) so that they can get real-time accurate data and satellite images across the cities. In this way, they obtain a reliable dataset and provide them to partnered institutions for further developments and government agencies for further regulations.
