According to the United Nations, urbanization has concentrated more than half of Earth’s populations, and this number is going to reach 66% by 2050. Another number that also worth mentioning is the number of vehicles on the road worldwide is projected to triple to as much as 3 billion by 2035. Parking is definitely going to be a disastrous urban problem by then if we don’t start to consider the solutions.

Recently, an automated parking garage exhibited at Smart China Expo gave us its answer. In this garage, all we need to do for the parking is to drive the car to the specified spot and go away. The machine will do all the other work for us. Meanwhile, it only takes 90 seconds to retrieve the car on average and due to the use of IoT module, all the payment could be finished on the phone.

The merit of this system is obvious. By using the machine to move the vehicles, the space between them could be squeezed to a really tight level so that a significant amount of valuable space could be saved. Besides, I believe many people have experienced the same problems with me: I only need ten minutes to drive to the mall but I need twenty minutes to find the parking space, and a lot of accidents tend to happen in those crowded space when we move the car. With the help of this parking system, those worries are not long problems at all.
