Lauren Eckles Named to Board of Greater Columbus Sports Commission
COLUMBUS, OH — (November 28, 2017) — Civitas is proud to announce that its very own Field Activation Director, Lauren Eckles, has been appointed to the Board of the Greater Columbus Sports Commission (https://www.columbussports.org/). Since its inception in 2002, the Greater Columbus Sports Commission has booked more than 427 new sporting events in the Columbus Region. As a member of the Board of Commissioners, Eckles will be responsible for assisting in the oversight of funding and policy in order to further the mission of the Greater Columbus Sports Commission. Her role is effective immediately.
Eckles joined the Civitas team in early 2016. She was the company’s first hire after its partnership team was established. As Field Activation Director for Civitas, Eckles leads the company’s activation team to bring each client’s campaigns to fruition through event strategy, ambassador recruitment and training, and on-site deployments nationwide. She contributes to accounts for such brands as Kentucky Tourism, Express, and Major League Soccer.
As a student at The Ohio State University, Eckles earned three Big Ten and two National Championship titles as part of the women’s varsity rowing team. In joining the Board of the Greater Columbus Sports Commission, Eckles hopes to combine her sports-related expertise that she has gained in her time at Civitas with her college athletic achievements to help enhance sports offerings throughout the City of Columbus.
Commenting on her Board appointment, Eckles said: “It is incredibly humbling to be given the opportunity to represent Civitas as part of such an influential group. I have always thought of Columbus as a ‘sports city’ and am looking forward to helping further that culture of athletic support and excellence.”
Eckles will continue to work at Civitas full-time during her term on the Board of the Greater Columbus Sports Commission.
