Soybean growth is heavily dependent on environmental factors, which can lead to lower yields — a big problem for farmers.

We wanted to improve this by finding genes in soybeans that can adapt to the environment.

The polyamine oxidase gene is one of many genes with this function. In this study, we found six polyamine oxidase genes in soybean. Then, we compared the differences between them.

Finally, we guessed that each gene had its own “responsibilities” or functions, and we did a simple validation study to learn more.
