5 Reasons to Help Mom(s)
Inspiration for Mother’s Day
There really is no shortage of reasons to thank moms. It didn’t take us long to come up with our top 5. With Mother’s Day coming up this Sunday, it’s a great opportunity to show our appreciation.
But mere appreciation just seems incomplete . . .
This Mother’s Day, we challenge you to take it a step further. Motherhood is probably one of the most deeply rewarding and challenging roles one can have. Children look to their moms for nurture, guidance, comfort, and so much more. That’s a lot of responsibility to shoulder, which is why moms are often tired and discouraged. Perhaps it’s time they received some help from us.
In the spirit of being helpful, here are our 5 reasons to help moms. Take these and consider how you can practically help moms in your midst!
1. Because a mom’s “job” never ends.
From pregnancy to adulthood, a mom will always be mom. The particularities of the relationship may change over time, but the nature of the relationship will remain. It truly is a 24/7 lifetime commitment.
2. Because motherhood can be lonely.
All moms risk being isolated or lonely at times. It’s an all-consuming role; it can be months before she realizes she hasn’t eaten a meal with adult friends, gone grocery shopping without the kids, or even peed alone. Not only that, but she may feel as though she’s the only one going through a particular challenge, whether it’s dealing with an infant, a teenager, or a grown child.
3. Because moms rarely get enough sleep.
The first few months? Forget about it. Toddler stage? Someone’s got to change the wet sheets at night. Teenage years? It can be challenging. It’s clearly a proven fact that the average mom is consistently sleep-deprived.
4. Because moms need your support.
Knowing that there’s help through a community of people willing to step in is a game-changer. We weren’t meant to nurture alone! There’s something so powerful in seeing a woman surrounded by those who love and support her in this special role.
5. Because you love them very much.
You love moms not only because they tend to sacrifice so much of their time, energy, and effort, but simply because they’re moms. This Mother’s Day, express your gratitude for the moms in your life in word and in deed. Go the extra mile to help them where most needed.
