Trail mix is very nutritional and that is just what Chris needed to survive on his journey. The people he met influenced him, so they were sort of like the nutrients he needed to get to Alaska and strongly progress in his journey.

Peanuts- Crazy Charlie represents this because he lived in the RV with Chris for a while.

Cranberries- Jan and Bob Burres represent this because they met Chris when he was searching for edible berries, also were really kind to Chris(sweet).

Raisins- Ron Franz was sweet and kind to Chris; was also old.

Pecans- Wayne Westerberg gave Chris multiple jobs and because close with him; was also kind to him but was rough around the edges.

M&M’s- Tracy represents m&m’s because she was fond of Chris and was full of adventure and new ideas and wanted to do them with Chris.

Dried Apricots- Jim Gallien represents this because he was the last to see Chris alive and was there until the very end, also was kind and sweet towards him.
