Another Successful Team Canada Champion Chats

Following a successful winter live chat in February 2020, we were excited to announce that Team Canada Champion Chats was back with its spring live event, hosted by Tessa Virtue and Benoit Huot, last Friday, May 29th.
Team Canada Champion Chats (TCCC) is an exciting nation-wide program sponsored by The Canadian Olympic Committee, Canadian Paralympic Committee, and Classroom Champions that empowers kids across Canada to embrace and take on challenges, prioritize mental health, achieve goals, and ultimately, dream bigger.
Team Canada Champion Chats incorporates three different four-week social emotional learning programs, featuring lesson videos from incredible Team Canada Olympic and Paralympic athletes and corresponding activities. Weekly challenges focus on themes that encourage character building in the classroom, at home, and in the community.
This spring, kids and students received athlete-guided activities that focused on topics like mindfulness, gratitude, community, and incorporated fun, physical exercises as well. This four-week program led up to a nationwide live chat on May 29th, featuring Team Canada Olympic and Paralympic athletes sharing their journeys with youth and teachers across Canada.

Last Friday marked Team Canada Champion Chats’ second of three live chats hosted by three-time Olympic Champion Tessa Virtue, and featured athlete mentors joining in remotely from their homes: Olympians Lanni Marchant (Athletics) and Angela Whyte (Athletics) and Paralympians Michelle Salt (Snowboarding) and Andrew Haley (Swimming). The five athletes shared lessons learned through their experiences in sport, and they answered questions from Canadians all across the country who tuned in live.
A French language chat also was held live, hosted by nine-time Paralympic Champion Benoît Huot, and featured Olympians Joseph Polossifakis (Fencing), Geneviève LaLonde (Athletics), and Paralympians Nicolas-Guy Turbide (Swimming) and Karolina Wisniewska (Alpine Skiing).
