Despite what the memes say about 2020, we still have a lot to be thankful for. ’Tis the time of year when we all can take a moment to think about what or whom we are grateful for. And we wanted to share a few resources to encourage your kids and family to take stock!

Whether in a (virtual) classroom, around a family dining table, or at a Friendsgiving, share our tree template so that everyone can make note of what they are most grateful for right now. Add the leaves to the printable tree or display the leaves on a larger bulletin board tree. Better yet, use string or ribbon to tie the leaves onto an actual tree or plant! As you decorate for the holidays, you can adorn with meaningful messages.

Next, pass out a copy of our Mad Lib-esque word game. Without reading the story, ask students or family members to fill in the parts of speech or prompts. Alternatively you can interview one another to help fill in the blanks — the more rapid fire, the better! Then take turns reading aloud the story completed with your word choices for a side of giggles with your Thanksgiving pie.

We at Classroom Champions are thankful for all you do daily to help kids become confident and compassionate individuals. We hope you have a great holiday celebrating with your loved ones near or far.
