Werklund Foundation and Classroom Champions Partner for large-scale impact across North America.

A 3-year partnership focuses on technology, engaging lessons and Indigenous communities.

Classroom Champions is proud to announce a three year partnership with the Werklund Foundation to enhance organizational programming and improve scalability. Werklund’s contribution of $300,000 financially supports Classroom Champions’ Social and Emotional Learning Foundations grade-banded video lessons, app development, and Circle programming which directly impacts Indigenous students.

“Classroom Champions is about to embark on its next decade of programming. It’s institutions like the Werklund Foundation that will give us the mission-critical support to better our offerings to the teachers, students and communities that need social and emotional learning,” said Steve Mesler, Olympic gold medalist and co-founder of Classroom Champions. “The past year was incredibly difficult for students, teachers and families. If we face another school year of uncertainty, having social and emotional learning resources at your fingertips will be important for mental health and emotional wellness of students and teachers. Werklund’s generosity allows us to make sure that happens seamlessly.”

Werklund has been supporting Classroom Champions’ mission since 2017, being a partner in programming for Canada. Werklund has always had a commitment to lifting up challenged populations through the power of mentorship, the athlete mindset, and technology.
