With the new year underway, we are excited to gear up for the 2016 Collaborative + Classy Awards, a one-of-a-kind three-day learning event in June showcasing the most innovative organizations in the social sector.

In addition to moving across the country to a new home this year, we’ve also redesigned the nomination process and the organization profile in order to give the judges the most thorough and accurate representation of the Classy Awards Finalists.

To determine the Classy Awards Winners, the judging panel, our esteemed Leadership Council, will use the Nomination Profiles to evaluate the following components:

  • Scale, scope, and leadership expertise of the problem being addressed
  • Innovative approach
  • Ability to solve the problem
  • Organizational effectiveness and resource management

Beyond the judging criteria, we believe that organizations leading the sector and affecting change tend to share similar traits. This infographic describes what Classy believes are the common characteristics that set innovative organizations apart.

Does your organization embody these characteristics? Join the ranks of an elite group of innovative programs recognized as Classy Award Winners. This prestigious opportunity identifies drivers of dramatic social change and affords organizations the incredible opportunity to come together and unite as thought leaders from across the globe.

Nominations for the 2016 Classy Awards are open through February 29. Nominations are received on the program level and nonprofit organizations, social enterprises, and for-profit companies driven by a social mission may apply. Organizations of any size, age, or location may submit multiple programs for recognition as long as they 1) address a social problem, 2) have at least one year of measurable results, and 3) complete the Nomination Profile in English.
