Today is International Women’s Day, so what better day to introduce Diana Lease, the newest member of the Clause team!
Diana is a full-stack developer currently working on React components for organisation settings and user management for the Clause platform. And that’s just the start!
We will have a full interview with Diana once she settles into her role, but for now, welcome Diana! We are thrilled to have you join the team and can’t wait to see the amazing stuff you are going to create.
Today, let’s take a moment to celebrate some of the great women that have helped define our industry. We owe all these women an enormous debt of gratitude.
And let us not forgot the large teams of women that worked on ENIAC (one of the first electronic general purpose computers) and on the Colossus project which was instrumental in helping the Allies win WW2.
Thankfully there is also a growing number of women in senior leadership positions to act as role models and mentors for women entering the profession.
We cannot be complacent however, as there are still far too few girls studying STEM, and in some areas we are actually moving backwards. Let’s redouble our efforts to ensure women and girls have the resources to succeed and that as (predominantly) white-men we make them feel welcome, and give them a fair-shake. Supporting diversity is morally right, makes the world a more interesting place, and is good for business.
If you are a woman interested in working with React, Node.js, MongoDB, AWS, Artificial Intelligence, natural language processing, blockchain, language design, compilers, cryptography, Ethereum, Corda, Hyperledger technologies… Please get in touch.
We are always on the lookout for amazing engineers, irrespective of gender, race or sexual orientation.
