Announcing the Listing of Two APIs on Honeycomb, Covering Over 550 Digital and Conventional Currencies
CLC Group is thrilled to announce that two new APIs have been listed on the Honeycomb Marketplace.
Coinlayer and Currencylayer, both products of Apilayer, are now live and ready to be used. Together, they allow you to integrate price data from both crypto and traditional currency markets.
About Coinlayer
Coinlayer delivers cryptocurrency exchange data gathered from 25 globally distributed exchanges, ensuring the highest possible level of accuracy and reliability. Prices are updated every 60 seconds, and historical prices are available stretching back to 2011. Coinlayer covers more than 385 coins, and provides their data to a large number of enterprise clients, including The Telegraph, Lyft and Time Inc.
About Currencylayer
Currencylayer provides reliable and accurate exchange rates for 168 currencies and precious metals. Their spot exchange rates, updated every 60 seconds, are provided by a broad range of commercial sources and banks. The data are weighted towards sources that more accurately reflect trading activity in the market. A “validation and fallback” algorithm that assigns different priorities to each data source and validates the exchange rates Coinlayer are provided is used to eliminate potentially inaccurate data and allows the vast majority of spot exchange rates to be determined to six decimal places.
Sample uses
By offering data from both Coinlayer and Currencylayer, we enable developers to access highly accurate market data for traditional currencies, and cryptocurrencies. These can be combined to provide easy and incredibly versatile price conversion in smart contracts. Another use case made possible here could be enabling smart contract based cryptocurrency futures trades.
Through the Honeycomb API Marketplace, these APIs will be available to Chainlinked smart contract creators via per-call pricing, over our maintained, reliable, external adapters. Developers can expect, within minutes, to connect their smart contract to any API listed on Honeycomb.
