I’m excited to announce that CleanCapital crossed another major milestone by recently closing Series A financing as part of an ongoing capital raise. The new capital will allow us to implement our technology roadmap, scale operations, grow our team, and expand opportunities for clean energy investing.

CleanCapital is committed to attracting new capital to clean energy. With years of clean energy finance experience, it became painfully clear to me that inefficient capital flows were holding back clean energy. We knew there was a better way. CleanCapital was founded to leverage technology to create a lower cost, more transparent flow of capital from investors to clean energy projects and accelerate clean energy development.

In our first year, CleanCapital filled a void in the clean energy marketplace by providing liquidity to numerous project owners, acquiring more than 20 MW of operating solar projects. We received funding from industry leaders like John Hancock Life Insurance and Generate Capital to finance numerous assets. In 2017 and beyond, we will expand into new clean energy asset classes and create more financing solutions to grow the sector.

Today, we are announcing a big step towards that goal. We are honored to welcome to CleanCapital some true fintech pioneers.

Ron Suber is at the center of San Francisco’s flourishing FinTech community. As of today, he’s invested in 16 fintech companies, including high-profile players like DocuSign and SoFi, and serves as an official advisor to a half dozen companies.
Jon Barlow is the founder and former CEO of Eaglewood Capital Management, a leading P2P asset-management firm with approximately $2 billion of assets under management. He currently serves as a director and advisor to several FinTech companies, including Money360, eOriginal, VeriComply and Marketlend.
Bradley Pattelli, the Founder of Troodon Advisors, is the former Chief Investment Officer of LendingClub, a the leading consumer online marketplace. Prior to joining LendingClub, Pattelli was a partner at Angelo, Gordon & Co., a $26 billion alternative investments advisor, where he managed CDO portfolios and multiple non-investment grade portfolios while leading significant growth in assets and delivering solid returns.
